- Dripping or Running Taps: A tap that keeps dripping after it is closed usually has a worn washer, O-ring or ceramic cartridge.
- Leaks at the Base or Handle: Water pooling around the tap body or seeping from under the lever, often from worn seals or a loose mounting.
- Weak or Sputtering Flow: Often caused by a scaled or blocked aerator, or a partly closed or failing isolation valve under the sink (see Stop Valve Replacement).
- Under-Sink Leaks: Drips from flexible supply hoses, angle valves, the bottle trap or the waste pipe joints.
- Loose Basins and Failed Sealant: Basins that have pulled away from their wall brackets, or cracked sealant around a sink that lets water into the cabinet below.

- Diagnosis: Tracing exactly where the water is coming from (the tap, the supply hose, the valve or the waste) rather than guessing.
- Isolate & Dismantle: Shutting off the isolation valve or the main supply, then taking apart the faulty tap or fitting.
- Repair or Replace: Renewing worn washers, cartridges, hoses, bottle traps or sealant, or fitting a new tap where a repair is not worthwhile. We always explain both options clearly before we start.
- Leak & Flow Test: Turning the water back on, running the tap and the drain, and checking every joint for drips, so the repair is tested in front of you.

Tap & Sink Repair FAQs
Why does my tap keep dripping after I turn it off?
In older two-handle taps, the usual cause is a worn rubber washer. In modern lever mixers, it is usually a worn ceramic cartridge or its seals. Hard-water scale can also stop the parts sealing properly. Tightening the handle harder rarely helps and can damage the parts further.
Should I repair or replace my tap?
If the tap body is in good condition, replacing a washer or cartridge is often enough. If it is corroded, keeps failing or its parts are no longer available, a new tap is usually the more sensible choice. We always explain both options clearly so you can decide.
Why is the water pressure low at only one tap?
If your other taps are fine, the problem is usually local: a clogged aerator at the spout, a partly closed or failing isolation valve under the sink, or a kinked flexible hose. Low pressure at every tap points to a problem further back on the supply.
Can you install a tap I have bought myself?

Is a small drip really worth fixing?
Yes. A constant drip wastes water around the clock, and leaks under the sink can damage cabinets and flooring before anyone notices. A small repair now is usually far simpler than dealing with water damage later.
